A BIT OF MY STORY

<aside> šŸš€ I'm an empathetic person who loves to act with diligence, driven by curiosity. I grew up in a small town in northern Peru. Being first-generation and coming from a low-income background may seem like obstacles at first, but I took it as fuel to be the finest version of myself while making a positive impact. As I was pursuing this mission, I had the privilige of joining to Dream DAO, where I have had the opportunity to take advantage of unique experiences. Among them was the opportunity to intern for dOrg.

LOVING THE PROCESS

<aside> šŸš€ I heard about Dream DAO when I finished my Civics Unplugged fellowship journey. Firstly, I was afraid of joining as a founding builder. This is because hardly did I know about Web 3, and I thought I should know something about it to perform an effective role within the organization. Then for season 2, I encouraged myself to apply, and happily got accepted.

DreamDAO was a before and after in my life. I have enjoyed various opportunities.

These include attending workshops, mentoring programs, weekly learning sessions and having a supportive community of Gen Z from all over the world. One of my highlights experiences was the Explorers Program. This program consisted of connecting you with impactful web3 organizations according to your abilities, tastes and areas of learning. This was to get a paid internship.

I was very nervous at the beginning because I had never had a paid internship before. Besides, I was a beginner working at the intersection of web 3 and social impact. Yet I embraced my fears, filled out the application, and clicked the submit button. Then I was fortunate enough to be connected with dOrg. To become an official builder I had to pass two other interviews. These interviews were enjoyable because I talked directly with dOrg members to gain a deeper understanding of its mission. And I felt aligned with them. I felt so blessed to be accepted as an admin & sales intern.

dOrg: The organization

dOrg: It providesĀ web3 developmentĀ services to projects seekingĀ real-world impact. They have been operating as a DAOĀ since 2019.

My role within dOrg is to carry out researching on web3 grants to fund internal projects as well as researching target potential clients and creating organized databases. I also kept admin databases updated. Besides, I had the chance to helping out occasionally other Internal Ops roles and other members in funded initiatives.

Highlights: Community, Curiosity and Collaboration

  1. Embracing Community: I was immediately struck by how alive the dOrg community was. I could feel the friendliness and openness that characterize this special family even throughout the interview process. I was given the opportunity to interact with numerous builders after stepping into administrative tasks, and then in sales operations where Max could teach me valuable lessons. Being a part of a DAO like dOrg, where each member's voice is acknowledged and cherished, is something I cherish a lot.
  2. Igniting Curiosity: When I first started participating professionally in dOrg, I let my curiosity lead the way. I like having the chance to learn about sales operations, do research, and build databases. Likewise, being part of admin tasks helped me improve my hard skills. Aditionallly, the grant proposals I helped write for the dOrg Hot Seat podcast brought another layer of significance to my learning process.
  3. Promoting collaboration: It can be difficult to work in a virtual setting because of things like different timezones and schedules. But the culture of dOrg is built on a spirit of cooperation that is nothing short of amazing. Despite these possible challenges, everyone's persistent dedication to working together ensures that we continue to work toward our common goals, giving us feedback to each other and embracing change for the better.

<aside> šŸ’” Final reflection: The only thing I can say after having had this fantastic experience is thank you to DreamDAO and dOrg for giving me the chance to hone my skills and for assisting me in growing both personally and professionally within the Web 3 space.
